The Mission of Women (re)Purposed
“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
We all long for it. Deep down, we want to understand our purpose and experience peace and freedom. We desire to understand truth and grasp meaning. We feel lost and blown around by our circumstances, like a ship without a rudder. We know there has to be a better way.
Many of us have heard the message that Jesus saves, and that he has provided a way. But it’s more than that——he is the way.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
We have been told that if we place our trust in God, we will have peace and find purpose. This is true. We were created for fellowship with God. We were made to know, worship, and glorify him. Our greatest good is inherently linked to his greatest glory.
But how many of us really understand what it means to follow Jesus and live out that calling? In our fast-paced, hustle harder, do more world, what does it look like to be a disciple of Jesus? How do we reconnect our saying faith and our saving faith? In other words, how do we trust Jesus not only with our souls, but also with our daily lives?
We need to go beyond words. Go beyond meetings in a building. Go beyond filtered social media posts. We need to follow Jesus in active obedience.
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24
Jesus asks us to seek him, grow in our knowledge of him, and experience abundant life as we pursue him. We are not promised an abundant life this side of heaven. In fact, we are told to deny our flesh, take up our cross daily, and follow him. And in this, we will find a deeper, more abiding satisfaction for our souls. We will experience peace beyond understanding, hope in brokenness, comfort in loss, and strength in weakness. This is where God’s blessings meet our deepest needs.
And it all starts by knowing the Word of God. Because in the Scriptures, we come to know Jesus Christ. Knowing Jesus Christ is knowing truth, and the truth will set us free. Consider this. The God of the universe wants to have an intimate relationship with each one of us. And through scripture, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit, we can grow in that relationship. Truly miraculous. Truly grace.
When we abide in his Word, we will produce much fruit.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing … By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” John 15:5-8
Women (re)Purposed was specifically created to help you dive into the Word, to follow Jesus, and to make disciples. We believe it is your ultimate purpose and calling. Through a growing knowledge of his Word and relationship with God, you will be progressively transformed into his likeness, bearing fruit for the kingdom and experiencing the power of his Spirit as you exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, faith, and self-control. No longer a slave to the shackles of sin or the heavy burdens of daily life, you will experience freedom and enjoy soul-satisfying fruit. And you’ll find that it is both a joy and honor to serve and live for Christ.
You were made for this mission.
Through his loving sacrifice on the cross, Jesus Christ provided a way for you to be with him, both in this life and the life to come. And when you embrace this truth through the power of the Holy Spirit, you begin to live repurposed. You are a new creation. Your old life has passed away, and the new has come.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Maybe you feel stuck in your faith journey, waiting for this new, transformed life. Maybe God seems distant and your time with him seems dry. Maybe you want to grow, but are not sure how. Maybe you have been abiding faithfully, but want to understand the next steps of the journey. Maybe you just need a helping hand to guide you.
We are here for you.
We want to see you transformed as your relationship with King Jesus grows. We desire for you to experience freedom from sin, freedom from performance and approval seeking, freedom from addiction, freedom from strongholds, and freedom from a life of aimlessness. We want to equip you with valuable tools to better understand the truth of God’s Word and the message of his heart.
Our mission is to encourage you on this kingdom journey. Our hope is that when this life here on earth is done, and we enter into the glorious presence of our Savior, he will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
We are excited you are joining us. Our prayer is that the resources we build, the content we create, and the teaching we provide will spur you toward a deeper and richer walk with God. Our hope is that you will have a better grasp of his provision and presence, and that you will be filled with peace, through the power of His Spirit as you Learn Truth, Love God, and Live Transformed.
We cling to the promise that as we abide in God’s Word, we will live as women repurposed for his service and his kingdom.
